WHICH VITAMIN?

Dear Dr.Bear,

My son is 11 months old. He has been taking Tri-Vi-Sol daily because he was being breast-fed. Now, he is no longer breastfeeding and is taking 6 ounces of formula three times a day, as well as solid foods. My question is whether I should still be giving him the Tri-Vi-Sol daily or if there is a different vitamin he should be getting, or maybe no vitamin is needed at all.

Sincerely,
All About the Vitamins

Dear All About the Vitamins,

You have done no harm, but I believe the Tri-Vi-Sol Vitamins are no longer needed. If eating solids and drinking vitamin fortified formula, you can save your money. In the future if he becomes a picky eater you can get Poly-Vi-Sol with Iron and give one dropperful daily, but really do not need to give on a regular basis.

Sincerely,
Dr. Bear
