TEETHING

Dear Dr.Bear,

My 8 week old son exhibits signs of teething: drooling, low grade temp 100, and rubbing wrist back and forth against gums. The baby orajel states not to be given to babies under 4 months. Is it okay to use orajel or popsicles when he is so small?

Sincerely,
Baby’s First Teeth

Dear Baby’s First Teeth,

Yes. They can drool and chew early but often teeth do not appear immediately. Benadryl rubbed on gum can help or 1/2 dropper of Tylenol (0.4 on dropper) every 4-6 hours can help. If still not doing well, needs a visit to the doctor.

Sincerely,
Dr. Bear
